...a new study suggests that eating chocolate could help boost the brain's ability to do maths.
Participants in the Northumbria University study performed significantly better at mental arithmetic after drinking a cocoa drink that contained large amounts of flavanols, the substance found in chocolate, which is known to increase blood flow to the brain.
The volunteers were also less likely to feel tired or mentally drained, according to the research findings, presented at the British Psychological Society conference.

Mello. First thing that came to mind after reading this article.

Had a trip out to Norwich today to do some shopping. Picked up seasons 2 &3 of Supernatrual as well as the three Resident Evil movies and The Kingdom on Blue Ray. Also picked up a couple of books and a new guitar for the Guitar Hero games for the husband.
Thankfully it didn't rain though it did get relly overcast as we were coming back. |

| Grangemouth Has Ghosties, Desu? |
[Jul. 9th, 2009☆09:05 pm] |
Pilot Location: Grangemouth - Inchyra Road, site of former RAF airport Type: Haunting Manifestation Date / Time: Post Second World War Further Comments: A phantom pilot dressed in his RAF clothing has been reported haunting the site of his old base. |
|
Found this on ParanormalDatabase.com.
There's not too many claims to hauntings in Grangemouth, so this was a bit of a surprise. It's the only registered one for this small, valley town.
Aside from this, the holistic medicine shop I used to work at - the Haven - was meant to be haunted too by a mischievous ghost, according to the manager.
Then, of course, there's the occasional rumours about UFOs around the BP chemical plant. (Though Bonnybridge seems to be the UFO hotspot in Scotland according to locals.)
Edinburgh has lots of stories of hauntings and ghosts and the like, but I had no idea about this apparent sitting of the phantom pilot in my hometown. It's not too far from my house. :P |
